In 2015, Gamescom received 345,000 visitors from 96 countries and gave home to 806 exhibitors from all around the world, making it the biggest gaming conference by exhibition space and number of visitors. Gamescom is the biggest videogame event in Europe for both gamers and business. Game Hollywood had a booth in the business area as every year to introduce some of the newest games: DDtank mobile, Eternal Fury, Era of Empire…
The Business area was boiling with excitement and the first day Game Hollywood met with some old and new partners like Big Point, Gamigo, MENA Software, Aeria Games… With a tight schedule and meetings back to back, the team got to discuss new business plans and take a look at lots of new games.
There were many indie developers looking for opportunities in the western market. Game Hollywood expansion to Europe and USA’s markets brought us new opportunities and lots of new partnerships in Gamescom 2015.
There were meetings with Persona.ly, who had one of the best thought booths; VK, long-time partners and our gate to Russia and many other companies.
Virtual Reality was one of the big themes of the conference, as it’s quickly becoming the future of communication and gaming. The Oculus booth in the Business Area was a private and exclusive experience where visitors could test the latest development of the most famous VR device. Sony’s Project Morpheus is the VR device that attracted more interest as it positions itself as one of the most interesting user-friendly VR gear. Game Hollywood will soon join the VR world where gaming will play an important part of the entertainment of the future.
In the entertainment area, our team had the chance to see a real-time gameplay of the still in development game Horizon Zero Dawn, developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Also played a very interesting demo of Until Dawn, one of the favorite games this year developed by Supermassive Games.
After Gamescom, the team headed to Berlin and Frankfurt to visit Aeria games and Crytech to discuss business and the future of VR in the European market. With the opening of Game Hollywood Europe, we are now in touch with our clients and partners directly with experts in the field from different international backgrounds.
